Oia is 11km. away from Fira. It is the first village to view by the ship as you enter the Caldera above the cove Armenia and picturesque harbor Amoudi.
It is Considered as an architecture model, with houses dug into the rock and is still retains the traditional element. The village of Oia was the first in Greece considered preservable (1976 by EOT). It includes the villages of Oia, Finikia, Tholos, Armenia (bay), Amoudi (port) Black Stone (Paradise), Columbo and the island of Thirassia.
It is worth visiting the Maritime Museum and the traditional village of Finikia which is just 1.5 km away. In the picturesque streets yopu can find many shops for shopping, upscale restaurants and cafes and quiet bars all with spectacular sea view.
